Undead Blocks is reminiscent of the old “Left 4 Dead” and “Call of Duty: Zombies” but fun and challenging in its own right.
Despite being currently in beta, the visuals are on-par with what you would expect from a fast paced zombie survival game and the environments are detailed enough to set the mood. The gameplay feels polished, the controls are precise and responsive, showing that the team has prioritized game experience first and only then the tokenomics.
Difficulty wise, the game is easy to pick up but it gets increasingly challenging as the time progresses and you are overwhelmed by the undead coming from all flanks.
Some of the features described here will be available once the final version is released and the game is expected to evolve as the studio iterates on players feedback.

While in open beta the game is free-to-play, however, in order to earn rewards players will need to obtain a Weapon Loadout by minting via the Stake2Mint program, purchasing through on secondary NFT markets such as OpenSea, or by becoming a scholar via the gas-less lending program on the Undead Blocks Marketplace.

There are multiple game modes available: Solo, Squads, Speedrun; with more to come in the future.

Solo – Survive as many waves as possible on your own
Squads – Round up your friends and play with party size of 2-4 players and work together to kill zombies
SpeedRun – Players will have to complete a set number of waves as fast as they can

Beside the game modes, players can also select from a variety of characters, called Survivors. Split between Common, Epic and Legendary classes and complete with a backstory, you’ll for sure find one matching your play style.
At the time, only one map was available, but new ones are already in development and are expected to launch with the game's full release.

Once the game starts, players are dropped in a map where they must defend themselves against the undead. Simple enough but the truth is that it is challenging and you can even expect armed zombies that hit you at a distance.
At the start you’ll be given a Pistol and a Combat Knife, however, other weapons can be used provided you have enough XP to unlock them. The more zombie killing you do, the more XP you get (bonus for headshots of course). If you own a Weapon Loadout NFT, all weapons and equipment there included will be available across the map to be unlocked. At launch the game features all the weapon types you would expect: handguns, assault rifles, shotguns, different melee options and even specialty weapons like crossbow and wavegun.
The XP earned will also allow you to use other assets you may have in the loadout such as grenades and cocktail molotovs, and perks to restore health, increase sprint or reload speed. The perks are available in vending machines across the map. With XP you can also unlock new areas of the map so you find that sweet spot to unleash your zombie killing skills.

Undead Blocks also hosts sponsored tournaments with large prize pools. The aim is to promote the game and increase brand awareness across other communities.
The tournaments typically run for 72h and consist of a challenge where players use a specific weapon to achieve the higher number of kills / XP in a time limit.

The full game version will feature daily leaderboards that will allow thousands of players to compete and earn in the various game modes. Every 24 hours, the leaderboards will be refreshed, and daily winners will be updated.

While the game must be downloaded to a PC or Mac, players can also connect a Playstation or Xbox controller through bluetooth or cable for that gamepad experience.

Wagyu Games also announced the Survivor Streamer Program ahead of the full game's release. The initiative will offer perks and rewards to content creators that assist game developers in expanding the game.
Only players that stream Undead Blocks for 2 hours each week are eligible for this program. Another need is that the players participate in the in-game tournaments.

Additional content, such as weapons, skins, new characters and new maps will be published into the game on a regular basis in the form of battle passes.
